OOTD: 07/28/2014

This was yesterday when I went to Ikea and Starbucks with the fam 😁

shirt: Brazil (sorry 😓)
pattern pants: forever 21
sandals: spring
belt: H&M
purse: spring

I got the soy caramel macchiato with raspberry and it's seriously the best, try it out! I would add a bit more sugar and ask for less ice too because or else the coffee will turn bitter and it just tastes gross in my opinion.

Just A Check Up...

Hi!

Yeah I'm still alive and I still suck...sorry for not updating in such a long time. I wish i could tell you I've been oh so busy with my oh so exciting life but the truth is, I haven't been up to anything that would be too exciting to share.

Although I did release a new YouTube video of my third day at Stampede and as promised I kind of vlogged (if you count different clips being put together into a cool montage with funky music in the background, then yes I did vlog), and in it I showed my outfits together with some friends, the awesome rides and delicious but so unhealthy food there! You can check that out either in the right side column of my blog where I placed a conveniently cute button directing you to my YT page, or right below here.

Follow Me Around: Stampede Festival

I feel awkward closing this post without adding a picture or two, what can I say I'm a visual person! So here are some random pictures me and my friend took with her polaroid camera, and this really made me buy one as well...look at them they're so cute and I just love the idea of taking a picture and instantly having it with you there to keep as a memory.

If you were just wondering what my next video is, and yeah I'm running a bit behind on this week's video (sorry!) it will be a "Get To Know Me" just so you guys feel a bit more like you know this girl sitting on the other side of the screen, writing this, uploading that, and so on. However I would love your input and suggestions on future videos you'd like to see from me. So if you have any please comment down below as I really would like a little help.

Well, that was all! Thank you so much for those who come here often I'm really hoping I start creating more posts for you guys and more videos as well, because I feel so good having a place where I can share all my creativity and enthusiasm for my interests. Till next time, keep having a fantastic summer and be safe!

xo, Maria Bethany.

My Summer Tunes

Hello Darlings,

I've decided to share something different with all of you today, and  btw expect posts like these to come by more often in the future. I was thinking of making a playlist of my monthly favourites, or just a theme that comes to my mind with songs that portrays a feeling, season, place or time, etc.

I've had an 8tracks account for a year and a half now and I love everything about it, from the process of creating a playlist to listening to other people's music. So I wanted to do the same but in a different platform. I will be sharing my recent "Summer Playlist" in here, and even if you don't want to listen to it, I completely understand! Just if you have time maybe go visit the site and listen to other playlists that include genres that are more to your liking.

Anyways sorry about me babbling on.... I hope you guys like my playlist and if you do please don't forget to like it. I hope to write about my passion for music in an up and coming post another time, but for now...

Wake up To The Sounds Of Summer

P.S: I'm not being compensated in any way to promote 8tracks in this post, all opinions are my own, and its my choice to share it on here.

Stampede Day #2

I'm back! and this time I'll tell you guys of my second day at Stampede 2014! (All this actually happened yesterday, July 7th btw.) I didn't go for a full day as me and some friends decided to go just for a concert that was being held at the Coca Cola Stage that night. Drum Roll please for the band announcement, I went to see... Mariana's Trench! It was my first time seeing them live and all that went through my head was "Are they always this good?" Those guys are definitely one of the most talented live performers in the business, Josh in vocals sounds like the voice of an angel, and my newly fave Matt Webb was just a cutie. At the end of the night I also got some mini donuts which I devoured in 10 seconds, pictures of the food are coming in my third Stampede Post so stay tuned for some delicious goodness. And I'll see you guys in my next post!

While I tried zooming in to Josh the image did not turn out one of the greatest sorry about that...

Matt handing out some merch shirts at the end of the show.

iPhone 4s quality is not the best...but better than nothing!

Stamped Day #1

What the heck is stampede?!
if you don't know the answer, I'm sorry to inform you're not a real cowboy at heart. It's okay because I'm not one either and I still know what it is and I'll tell you. Stampede is an annual 10-day-event rodeo and fair festival, filled with concerts, band parades and amusement park rides. It not only attracts most of the population in Canada but all over the world to see "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth".

Let's just hip-hop our way to my outfit for the first day, which is so controversial btw as I do not even look like I'm dressed as a cowgirl much less attending a rodeo, instead I look like i belong at coachella. Which I'll be frankly honest about, its what I was aiming for its so much more fun to express your individual style and put your creative stamp into your outfit, then it is to put on cowboy boots, a plaid shirt and a cowboy hat. So without much further ado, here it is...
shirt- Sirens
belt- Sirens (came with the shirt)
high wasted dark-jean shorts- Garage
Cardigan- Old Navy
Bag- Brazil (lul)
Necklaces- both gifts (sorry)
Shoes- white All-Star Converse
me working the corner (lol jk)

I'm sorry to shatter your curiosity about Stampede and it's most wonderful activities and fairs but I just realized I did not take any more pictures of the park! I'm just as dumbfounded as you are, but not to worry as I do have one more chance to go again in a few days and I promise this time I will take lots of more pictures!

Day #1 at Stampede was so crazy, me and my friends bought a day pass to enter all the rides how many ever times we wanted and it was fun for them, but not so much for me. I found out my annoying car motion sickness evolved and is slowly taking over my life as I couldn't even go on any of the rides at the park without feeling nauseous and dizzy.

I didn't go in the ride above, but glad I took it to show y'all a sneak peak of the amusement park side of Stampede...did that just rhyme?

We went to see a dog show, which was the most adorable thing ever, imagine cute dogs just running around doing tricks and flips everywhere...yeah...pretty dang adorable. There was also a cow milking contest without a real life cow, of course, I don't think I would have managed, neither would the cow tbh hahah.

I finish this post with the promise that I will come back from Day #3 of Stampede ready to share a lot more pictures of the park and food that you guys will have no choice but to forgive me. Till then, hugs and kisses and thank you for reading about my day!

A Day In The Mountains

hey hey hey, I know it's been a little while I've posted something...
But not because I've been up to nothing these past few days but because I've done so much that by the time I got home to update you guys it was so late and I was just too tired to force my body to write anything. But I hope you're ready to get swarmed by posts and pictures of my long weekend, because that's coming up now.

Saturday, July 5th I had the amazing opportunity to go road tripping with my family and some family friends to Banff National Park, which if some you are not familiar with, is Canada's oldest national park and I have to say one of the most beautiful places to sightsee, as you will see from some pictures below. Every landscape is breathtaking, with amazing sights of mountains, lakes, nature and fauna  all in all one of the most fascinating outdoor experiences anyone can get in just a one day pass of visiting the park. It had been a few years since I've visited the park and if I could I would visit the park every weekend as it is such a perfect and serene getaway from the hectics of city life.

Took this on the way to Banff, just a little community of very luxurious houses overlooking the Rocky Mountains.

Car ride on the way to paradise

A little garden we found up a trail

Two of the pictures above are from Bow Falls, an enchanting waterfall. I had to pack on a jacket as this water was spraying us with cool mist from the short drop of the waterfall.

side view of Moraine Lake, in my opinion the second most beautiful wonder of the park. Definitely a must see if your coming to visit this dreamy destination.

this chipmunk here begged us for some of my grapes and i just couldn't say no, sorry...

The cuteness is just too much, this little guy deserves a big "awww"

He wasn't even scared to go up to us and beg for some food, how could we resist... he was giving us puppy dog eyes...or better yet chipmunk eyes.

The summer climate makes these waters turn into a very blue shade, almost unbelievable that this image was not edited in any way, it was just taken by another phone.
Here is the full image...breathtaking. I'm sure if you had stood where I was and took a picture with a crappy, old phone it would still look marvellous and it would seem like it belonged in a professional travel book.

This was just taken with my iPhone 4s and yup still perfect...It was already close to sunset by this time and the sunlight was hitting the rockies over there to the left, I just had to take another picture. This was taken at Lake Louise, if you're wondering what the first most beautiful wonder of the park is you're looking at it. The lighting wasn't the best as it was cloudy and gloomy but just by searching up pictures you will find the scenery too perfect to be real.

Outfit Time!!
Transparent long sleeve shirt- Forever 21
Acid washed capri jeans- Garage
Shoes- converse (duhh)
Black baseball cap- H&M

So that's it for this day guys! Just wanted to share this beautiful part of the country I'm proud to call home, Canada, with all its glory can be overlooked but dig deep enough and you may find another world hiding beneath our own. I'm not much an outdoorsy person, I must admit, but visiting this park can lift my spirits in hopes of new adventures waiting to steal my breath around every corner, filled with soulful replenishment and such natural vibes its bound to leave anyone with an imprint that life is so much more beautiful than we think.

✰ First Video ✰

Hello!

so... I made my first Youtube video! I am so excited it is finally published because with the filming and editing and all that hustle it's finally done. It is a collective haul in which I talk about all the shopping I have done around the month of April, with all beauty and fashion items collected from that time period. If you haven't watched it yet I'll post a link to the video at the end of this post, or you can just go to my channel by clicking the Youtube icon by the right side of the screen, and while you're there it would be great if you helped my channel by clicking the subscribe button.

enjoy!

First Post and Canada Day Plans

yay! First post! I'm so excited to start writing in here although I'm not sure how often I will be able to do it, but since it is summer I'm expecting to have a lot of free time. For now, I'll take it slow and I'll try to only post exciting things, and not boring days where all I do is stay in bed on tumblr, eating.

So let's get started shall we? today was a national holiday here in Canada, July 1st: Canada Day. I was planning on staying at home and catching up on projects I was running behind on. I still had to film, edit and post my first YouTube video, complete some house chores, catch up on my favourite YouTube subscriptions and of course try to do something about this blog. well, at least one of these are done! although I am currently writing this draft in my car looking out the window at the beautiful parks where celebrations are vibrating with music and people.

Going back a bit, I woke up, ate some toast with cottage cheese and grapes for breakfast. Then headed to get dressed and put makeup on to look at least a bit decent to film, when my parents decided to go out. So, plans changed but fortunately I was all ready to go, and I'll show you what I wore down below... not very Canadian of me at all. Still wearing black hahah.
Full Outfit:
black crop top- Garage
Necklace- Forever 21
Skirt- Garage
Bag- H&M
Sandals- Spring
Rings- (turquoise) forever 21, (gold) H&M

Following, my parents dragged me to their friends house where a Brazilian BBQ was taking place... I didn't complain, I do love the idea of a cozy and chill BBQ party. A lovely family might I add with a new joined member, the newborn Isabella, and her big sister, Laura.

The cutest baby, Isabella.
Laura, showing me her amazing skills in blowing bubbles.
The BBQ started soon after our arrival, but first we must have appetizers! Disclaimer for the few BBQ pictures coming up, but I don't consume red meat, or pork as I do have vegetarian principles, and in the future would wish to cut all meat out from my diet. I do think of myself as a "partial vegetarian" and some don't even label me as one as I do eat all other meats. But I like to believe it's a step to getting where I strive to be and I do have all the good intentions and knowledge to pursue this lifestyle. To clarify, the only "meat" I eat is white meat like fish, chicken and turkey. So while everyone else were enjoying their BBQ, I ate some salad with ranch dressing, turkey sausage and grilled yellow peppers :) it was sooo good!

We left the party after a few hours of talking and just chilling outside. It was such a hot and sunny day outside, as expected of summer, but those are my favourite kind of days.

Towards the evening, I took my car for a spin with my dad. I'm practicing my driving to do my driver's road test and I couldn't be more excited and scared about it. The first time I drove a car I was so bad, and almost caused an accident! Don't trust me behind a wheel if you value your life, jk, I am getting better with practice, I promise! I had to pick up a cactus plant, from my friend who was letting me adopt it from her, on the way anyways. It is now sitting across from me as I am writing this post right now, its so cute I think cacti just became my new favourite plant.

There it is to the right, my cactus, I think I'll name it Finn.

Well it is super late at the moment and I just yawned so I think that's a sign that my day is coming to an end. Another extremely entertaining, documented post extracted from the super exciting life of an introverted, teenage, girl. This is me signing out. And also, before I leave, thank you for reading all of this... I mean you must be really bored or just... really bored.
